This event is a fundraiser hosted by the Lloyd family (with lots of help from family and good friends!) in memory of Richard Lloyd, who had short but very tough battle with this rare cancer.
  
The 3rd annual Slay the Dragon 5k Walk/Run was held on 9/26/09 in Ashland, VA--another hugely successful year!! Thanks to all of our company sponsors, participants, and to those who donated!
 

All money raised goes to the National LeioMyoSarcoma Foundation to support research in finding a cure for LeioMyoSarcoma.  In the first three years of this event, we have sent the foundation roughly $36k to help with researching a cure for this cancer.

Packet pick-up will be held at the shelter at Carter Park on 9/23/10 from 4-7 pm.  Packets also available for pick up prior to the event on 9/25/10, beginning at 7 am. Registration is also open on 9/25/10 from 7 am to 8 am.

 

Note: This is a measured (3.1 miles) and certified course.  This event is sanctioned by USA Track and Field.

 

Strollers and wagons are welcome for the little ones, but no pets please.

We hold a drawing for door prizes after the 5k is over and LMS Survivor Debbie Jones will be holding a raffle to raise additional money.

Come out and join us, whether you're walking or running the 3.1 miles!
 
Directions: Carter Park, 1112 Maple Street, Ashland, VA
From the south: I-95 North to the Ashland exit, take Rt. 54 west, turn left on Rt. 1 and travel approximately 1 1/4 miles, turn right on Ashcake Road, travel approximately 1 mile, turn right on Maple Street. Carter Park is on the left.
 
From the north: I-95 South to the Ashland exit, travel west on Rt. 54 1/2 mile, turn left on Rt. 1 South approximately 1 1/4 mile, turn right on Ashcake Road, go 1 mile, turn right on Maple Street...Carter Park is on the left.
